Blue Sky Mining is one of the greatest Australian albums of all time. The Oils wrote the title track ‘Blue Sky Mine’ about the workers at the Wittenoom asbestos mines who contracted various asbestos-related diseases. Other classic tracks on the album include Forgotten Years, King of the Mountain and One Country – all still relevant as ever to this day.

On a family holiday to Byron Bay in the 90’s, this Blue Sky Mining cassette was left on the car’s dash while we headed to the beach for some relief from the summer sun. While our skin burned, unbeknownst to us, this Midnight Oil cassette was cooking on the dash. We found this warped mess of a cassette when when we got back to the car.

The original drawing took artist Dean Spinks around 62 hours to complete in his unique photo-realistic drawing style. The Giclee print reproduction is produced by a Hahnemuhle certified studio (one of only 9 in Australia) to gallery-quality print standards which ensures artwork longevity and authentic artwork reproduction.

There is currently a ONE WEEK delay on shipping while the artwork is being printed. Artwork is unframed and will be shipped in a tube. Sorry, no returns or exchanges.
