At the centre of Shattered Vanity is the contrast between polished high-fashion portraiture and physical disruption. The image begins refined and composed, then is crushed, fractured and rebuilt through meticulous photorealistic drawing.
The original was created by hand, layer by layer, using Copic marker to achieve the tonal depth and subtle surface shifts that define the piece.
This series marks a shift in my practice. Rather than simply replicating what I see, these works move into something more constructed and recognisable — my interpretation of photorealism.
Unlike the earlier works in the series, A Fleeting Moment adopts a square format. As the body of work grows, each piece will determine its own scale and physical presence.
For collectors, the original holds the full texture of the surface — the precision of the linework and the density of the tonal layering that can only be experienced in person.
