I don’t think there’s a more recognisable Australian beer than Foster’s Lager. From blanketing Australian sporting events in the 80’s and 90’s, to Crocodile Dundee/Paul Hogan’s ‘The Golden Throat Charmer’ ads, the Fosters logo is synonymous worldwide with Australian culture.

An iconic Australian tinnie in full colour. I previously drew a black and white version of this in 2018, before I worked out how to draw in colour, and have been wanting to do a full colour versions for a long time now.

Andrew ‘Joey’ Johns footy card from his first full season with the Newcastle Knights. Joey would go on to win two premierships for the Knights and is considered one of the greatest players to ever play the sport of Rugby League.

Nothing reminds me more of being a 90’s kid than swapping footy cards in the schoolyard with my mates. This one was hot property… International honour roll with the iconic Andrew Ettingshausen of the Cronulla Sharks.

One of the positive outcomes of the Sydney lockdowns is it left plenty of time to draw! This piece is a result of me experimenting with a ‘looser’ technique, combining traditional crosshatching with a scribbling technique to lay down the colour.
