Measuring 660 x 990mm, this is one of the largest original drawings I’ve created to date. It took 73 hours to complete using Copic markers, built slowly through layered tonal work to achieve the depth, realism and contrast that define the series.
The Shattered Vanity body of work centres around high-fashion portraiture that has been physically bent, folded and crushed. The distortion of the paper reshapes the face and creates sharp highlights, deep shadows and dramatic tonal transitions across the surface. The folds introduce new planes and angles, transforming a traditional portrait into something far more dynamic and visually arresting.
In A Silent Crescendo, the composition is large, bold and immediately impactful. The scale gives the portrait real presence — the contrast is strong, the shadows are deep, and the crushed folds create a striking, high-impact surface that commands attention.
With its bent, folded and crushed surface, A Silent Crescendo is not a replication — it is a singular, hand-rendered original that carries the full presence of the artist’s process, and the impact that only comes from seeing it at its intended scale. This is a premium, one-off artwork — signed, dated, and available only once.
